PS3 slim not playing BD but plays DVD's. ?

Depends. Does the little blue CD pop up in the Game section on the XMB? If so then it works fine. If it doesn't then it's probably the BD laser. You should send it to a gameshop or send it to Sony so they can see if they can fix it.
