Why wont my playstation 3 let me put a disc inside?

my ps3 has been working fine till today i wanted to take a game out i was playing the other day and play something else and when i pressed the eject button nothing happend the blue light flashed but no disc came out. I opend my ps3 and opend the disc reader to check and it all seemed fine not one problem or spec of dust so i put it back together and tried but it still wouldn't suck in the disc i had to force it in with my nails and once in it wouldnt read and show up under the game option but whenever you press the eject button it makes a feint sound as if there is no disc in there or that the rubber on the gears dont touch the edge of the disc but thats no the case. any suggestions???
