Why won't my Ipod 3rd generation - play in my car?

Which car/system do you have/how old is it? Sometimes it depends on when your got your car or when you installed the iPod system. The iPod touch is a relatively new model, and I know for a fact that a few older docks cannot read it. That could be your problem.
