Does anyone else have a cat that comes when you meow?

My cat used to come when I called her name but after a while she stoped and only comes if she wants to. When I start meowing at her she runs over and meows back a me, then she rubs up against me wants to be petted. It is as if she is saying oh your sad I will cheer you up! She could be in a dead sleep all the way down stairs and if I meow she comes runnin! Maybe I was a cat in another life time?
