Can my PS3 be fixed by Sony?

i am seriously worried about my PS3. i dunno if Sony or anyone else can repair my PS3. a few months ago i put in a disc that i didn't knew was a European disc and now my PS3 won't play games but it can play movies, and it makes the "eject" sound whenever i put a game in it and it takes too long to load and then it won't start the game. Another reason why i'm worried because i think that European disc infected some of my data or something, but i don't know about that yet, and i have the Slim version of the PS3. can anyone repair it? i would like to hear an answer from a person that works for Sony but i don't know if i can even get that answer. =(
