Connecting Nook to Pc issues?

When I connect my Nook, newest version, to my PC with the USB cable, I get a small box on top of screen that says " USB Mode, you may now safely move files from PC to NOOK. Please properly eject Nook from computer to avoid file transfer problems" and that's all it will do.I've ejected the Nook from PC as it told me to and nothing happens with the Nook screen. Any ideas before I break down and call customer service?
