GAME UK and refund or exchange policy?

I bought a game today through trade in. It was pre owned Mario Kart Wii and When I came home and played it an error kept on saying to eject the disk it.. Can I get my money back or at least exchange it for another to a one that does work I don't care if it is pre owned just as long as it works.. I have the reciept and there are no damages on there.. Only played it for 10min everytime having the same error.. Its unfair because I spent money on that.. Don't even work.. Ive bought preowned games there before and they work perfect.. this is my first time experiencing this..
