There is something wrong with my disk drive?

Ok so i want to put a disk into my computer but when i click on the button to open it up, it just dosent open. ive tried going onto setting and click eject but that dosent work either. i have put a paperclip on it so it opens, but then when i insert the disk it still dosent recognize the disk drive.. so its not like the disk is stuck or anything. also when i turn on my computer it says something like "Push the device firmyl into the bay" "restart the system and try again" and ive TRIED and it just dosent work. but sometimes, if i leave it for a day or something, it will work? PLEASE HELP.
