Gateway Laptop won't detect wireless network?! (& one other Q)?

ok i dont no what laptop u have but usally they have a internet switch on the side some 1 might have switched that off if that dosent work try using ur back up thats on your computer that might fix the internet it for the disk drive u might have had a cd in it and it might have fell out but it has a little hole on the disk drive it if u put a pin and push the pin it might open it 'but what type of computer is it i can give u more instructions if i no what it is'
